Vanessa is a Senior Partner at Jacome & Jacome, where she specializes in Corporate Law, Real Estate, Immigration, and Private Wealth. Since her time in France, Vanessa has become the preeminent advisor to French clientele in Panama. Consequently, Jacome & Jacome is recognized as a francophone law firm by the French embassy in Panama.

Vanessa assists clients along every step of their relocation journey, from the acquisition of real property to the creation of asset protection and estate-planning structures.

Vanessa earned an LL.B. (magna cum laude) and a Superior Diploma from the University of Panama, as well as a Ph.D. in Law with a focus on Commercial Law from the University of Paris, Paris II, where she authored a thesis on: Le Droit de propriété comme garantie non traditionnelle du crédit bancaire au Panama et en France (Property rights as a non-traditional guarantee for bank credit in Panama and France).

Vanessa is a member of Assas Alumni, the alumni association of the Faculty of Law at the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.

Vanessa also served as legal advisor and member of the Board of Directors of the French Embassy in Panama (1995-2000).

Vanessa also served on the Board of Directors of the International School of Panama from 2012-2015.

Vanessa is an Authorized Public Translator and Interpreter, licensed by Resolution No. 19 of January 30th, 1995 to translate and interpret in English, Spanish, and French.
